MARCOS ADMIN ALLOTS ₱67.9B TO STRENGTHEN PHILIPPINE JUDICIARY IN 2026

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) confirmed that the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has allocated ₱67.9 billion for the Judiciary in the 2026 national budget to further strengthen and reinforce the country’s justice system.

“A total of ₱67.9 billion is allocated for the Judiciary and ₱43.6 billion for the Department of Justice (DOJ) as we work towards building a fair, efficient, accessible and improved justice system,” President Marcos Jr. said.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman echoed the President’s vision, underscoring the administration’s commitment to sustain funding for judicial reforms.

“We support President Bongbong Marcos’ objectives of strengthening our Judiciary system. And so, for next year, we will ensure to provide adequate and sustained funding for programs that aim to protect our citizens’ rights and allow the timely delivery of justice,” Pangandaman said.

Under the 2026 budget for the judicial branch:

  • ₱43.6 billion will go directly to the Department of Justice (DOJ),
  • ₱32.4 billion for the Supreme Court and lower courts,
  • ₱1.6 billion for the Court of Appeals,
  • ₱710 million for the Sandiganbayan, and
  • ₱306 million for the Court of Tax Appeals.

The Marcos administration stressed that these allocations are a clear signal of its commitment to a stronger, more efficient, and accessible justice system that ensures accountability and upholds the rights of every Filipino.
