President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is prepared to face the investigation of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) once he is invited, Malacañang confirmed.
In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro said the President is ready to cooperate and show he has nothing to hide.
“Matapang po ang Pangulo. Alam po niya ang kanyang ginagawa at kung ano man maaaring imbestigahan dito, hindi niya i-e-excuse ang sarili niya,” Castro stated.
She added that the Palace is also leaving the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to carry out its mandate without interference.
“Let the Comelec do its job. Investigate. The President is willing to be investigated,” she said.
The statement came after a Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) report revealed that Marcos Jr. and his running mate in the 2022 elections, Vice President Sara Duterte, allegedly received campaign donations from several government contractors.
