MARCOS PUSHES FOR SWEEPING GOVERNMENT REFORMS TO END CORRUPTION

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is calling for sweeping and systematic reforms in government to finally put an end to corruption, particularly in light of the controversy over alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

Speaking before newly elected and appointed officers of the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) in Malacañang on Tuesday, September 30, the President acknowledged the deep frustration of the public over the current state of governance.

“Our people are exhausted, they are disappointed, they are angry. And as I have said before, their rage is valid,” Marcos said.

He stressed that such anger stems from “years of frustration at a government characterized by systemic dysfunction and unfulfilled promises.”

For Marcos, genuine change must start with reform.

“Reforming our government is the only way we have to win back the trust of our people,” he declared.

The President also urged local government officials to put aside political differences and prioritize public service.

“Patunayan natin na wala sa kulay ng politika ang tunay na paglilingkod. Ito ay nasa puso, nasa konsensya, at higit sa lahat ay nasa gawa,” he said.
