The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has formally proclaimed on October 2 three new party-list representatives who will occupy the seats vacated by Duterte Youth following the cancellation of its registration.
The newly proclaimed party-list representatives who will join the 20th Congress are:
- Alfred delos Santos – Ang Probinsyano Partylist
- Robert Raymund Estrella – Abono Partylist
- Former Bohol Governor Arthur Yap – Murang Kuryente Partylist
The proclamation was held at the COMELEC Chairman’s Hall after the en banc finalized its ruling junking the registration of Duterte Youth over multiple violations.
Meanwhile, COMELEC Chairman George Garcia confirmed that the Commission will issue a formal resolution to cancel the electoral calendar for the postponed October 13 elections and instead release a new schedule for the rescheduled Bangsamoro parliamentary elections on March 31, 2026.
“We will issue a resolution to set aside all calendar of activities pertaining to the October 13 elections,” Garcia said, emphasizing that the Commission remains committed to fulfilling its mandate despite limited preparation time.
“We will definitely comply doon sa March 31,” he added.
