Damage to agriculture from Tropical Cyclone Paolo has reached over ₱105 million, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Tuesday.
In its latest situational report, the NDRRMC said total agricultural losses amounted to ₱105,389,280, all recorded in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), affecting 3,888 farmers and fisherfolk.
The total affected crop area was estimated at 4,017.73 hectares. Of this, 141.65 hectares were classified as totally damaged with no chance of recovery, while 3,876.04 hectares were partially damaged but still recoverable.
Production losses in terms of volume were estimated at 7,782.78 metric tons.
The typhoon also affected 95,163 families, equivalent to 315,281 individuals, across Regions 1 (Ilocos Region), 2 (Cagayan Valley), CAR, Region 3 (Central Luzon), and Calabarzon.
As of Tuesday afternoon, 388 displaced families were still in 30 evacuation centers, while 1,921 others were staying in alternative locations.
Paolo made landfall in Dinapigue, Isabela on October 3 and reached typhoon strength before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility the following day.
