Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa shared his sentiments on the continued absence of former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co from the Philippines, following the recent earthquake that struck Davao Oriental.
In a Facebook post on Friday, October 10, Dela Rosa appeared to make a half-serious, half-humorous plea for Co’s return to the country.
“Maawa ka na sa Pilipinas Zaldy! Palagi daw itong lilindolin hanggat hindi ka umuuwi!” the senator wrote.
He added, “Kahit nakasquat na ako sa lupa kanina, nahihilo pa rin ako sa lakas at tagal ng lindol. Umuwi ka na please.”
The post drew amused reactions from netizens, many of whom agreed with or supported Dela Rosa’s lighthearted message.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) earlier confirmed that Co has yet to return to the Philippines.
According to BI Deputy Spokesperson Melvin Mabulac, Co’s recent travel records show no indication of his arrival in the country.
“Ang alam po natin, si (dating) congressman Co ay wala sa ating bansa. ‘Yun po ang nakikita natin sa checking ng recent travel record,” Mabulac said on Thursday, October 9.
