Veteran journalist and former Vice President Noli de Castro has hinted at his much-awaited return to radio—around ten months since his last appearance on his long-running program Kabayan on DZMM.
In a brief phone patch interview during the Monday episode of Gising Pilipinas hosted by Alvin Elchico and Doris Bigornia, De Castro was asked about the possibility of his radio comeback.
“Parang na-miss mong mag-programa Kabs ha?” Elchico quipped, referring to the veteran news anchor by his popular moniker, Kabayan.
De Castro replied, “Hindi, na-ano lang ako… kasi matagal ko nang iniisip yan.”
When asked directly about when listeners could expect his return, he simply said, “Malapit na!”
De Castro temporarily stepped away from his radio program due to minor health concerns, but fans have since expressed eagerness to hear him back on air.
For now, De Castro continues to be seen nightly as one of the anchors of ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast TV Patrol, while veteran journalist Danny Buenafe currently fills in for him on the radio.
