Vice President Sara Duterte confirmed that there is a possibility her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, may spend the Christmas season in The Hague, Netherlands.
In a media interview on Wednesday, October 15, the Vice President admitted she has not recently spoken with her father regarding the holiday season.
“Hindi ko pa kasi siya nakakausap lately,” she said.
VP Sara, however, expressed confidence that the former President is aware of the possibility of spending Christmas abroad.
“But nakakausap naman niya ‘yong abogado niya araw-araw. So, alam ko na mayroon siyang information na ganoon ‘yong mangyayari,” she explained.
She added that the Duterte family is currently arranging their schedule for a visit to the former President in The Hague.
“Sa akin lang ngayon is hinahanda ko ‘yong schedule ng pagbisita ng mga family members,” she noted.
The Vice President also revealed that her younger sister, Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, will likely spend both Christmas and New Year in the Netherlands.
“Yes, kasi naka-on deck na si Veronica, si Kitty, para magpasko at mag-new year doon sa [The Hague], si Veronica at si Mira,” VP Sara confirmed.
The development comes amid continuing interest in the former president’s situation overseas, with his family ensuring they remain closely connected despite the distance.
