Former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson has reiterated his call for the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to conduct an investigation into the alleged flood-control project irregularities in Ilocos Norte.
In a video posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday, October 18, Singson said he would believe in President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. if he initiates a probe into the infrastructure projects in his home province.
Singson recalled advising the ICI not to look far, claiming there are questionable flood-control projects within Ilocos Norte.
He also questioned why Ilocos Norte has not been included in the Senate’s discussions on infrastructure controversies.
Wala pang lumalabas up to now. Kaya napilitan na ako dahil ako ang binabanatan nila, this is all diversionary tactic,” Singson said.
The former governor revealed that he already dispatched a team to look into the projects on-site.
Singson further clarified that a proper investigation by the President would strengthen his credibility.
It can be recalled that on September 19, 2025, Singson already urged authorities to investigate the same issue, alleging that the Discaya couple were contractors of the said flood-control projects in Ilocos Norte.
