At least seven people were killed while two others remain missing following the onslaught of Tropical Storm Ramil, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Monday.

Of the reported fatalities, five were from Calabarzon (Southern Tagalog) and two from Western Visayas (Region 6). The two missing individuals were also from Western Visayas, while the lone injury was recorded in Calabarzon.
The NDRRMC emphasized that the figures are still subject to validation as assessment and verification efforts continue on the ground.
The storm affected 37,852 families, or approximately 133,196 individuals, across Cagayan Valley (Region 2), Central Luzon (Region 3), Western Visayas (Region 6), and Eastern Visayas (Region 8).
As of Monday noon, around 2,260 families were taking shelter in 166 evacuation centers, while 1,720 more families were receiving assistance outside formal shelters.
The NDRRMC also reported 68 damaged houses in Region 6 — 57 partially damaged and 11 totally destroyed.
Meanwhile, Acting Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has ordered police units to assist local authorities in road clearing operations across storm-hit regions.
“I have already directed all our commanders on the ground to ensure that a sufficient number of our personnel be deployed to assist in road clearing operations,” Nartatez said in a statement.
“Road networks are essential in the distribution of assistance to the affected residents; we have to keep them cleared from any obstruction at all times,” he added.
Tropical Storm Ramil officially exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday morning, leaving behind widespread flooding, power outages, and infrastructure damage in several provinces.
Authorities continue to monitor weather developments and coordinate relief operations for affected communities.
