The National Youth Commission (NYC) has urged Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) leaders nationwide to maximize their funds for beneficial and meaningful projects that will inspire civic participation and national pride among the youth.
According to NYC Chairman and Undersecretary Jeff Ortega, SK leaders may take inspiration from the colorful mural recently painted by young volunteers and civic groups such as the Filipinos Do Not Yield Movement and the BLESSED Movement on a wall at the Manila North Cemetery.
The mural proudly bears the words “AMIN ANG WEST PHILIPPINE SEA”, symbolizing patriotism and unity in defending the country’s sovereignty.
He emphasized that such projects are powerful reminders to the public that Filipinos continue to stand for their national rights—while also educating the younger generation about the importance of defending the West Philippine Sea.
