BONG GO READY TO FACE CASES FILED BY TRILLANES

Senator Bong Go expressed readiness to cooperate and respond to the plunder charges filed against him by former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV before the Office of the Ombudsman.

In a press briefing held on Tuesday, October 21, Go dismissed the accusations as “baseless” and said he had long expected Trillanes to file a complaint against him.

“I have been expecting this complaint, and now we are in the proper forum to prove the baselessness of his allegations. I now have the opportunity to answer him point by point before the Ombudsman, and not on media anymore,” Go said.

He assured full cooperation with the Ombudsman’s investigation and vowed to respect the legal process.

“I will cooperate with the investigation and abide by its legal processes. The truth will be revealed and believe that justice and fairness shall prevail,” he added.

Go also expressed confidence that the Ombudsman will act fairly in handling the case.

“I hope that the Ombudsman will be fair,” the senator said.

It can be recalled that Trillanes filed a plunder complaint before the Ombudsman against former President Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Bong Go, and Go’s father and brother, who allegedly own two construction firms—CLTG Builders and Alfrego Builders—that were awarded infrastructure projects worth ₱7 billion.

Reports claimed that Go’s close ties with Duterte allegedly played a role in securing the projects for the said firms.
