FIRE HITS DPWH OFFICE IN QUEZON CITY, NOW EXTINGUISHED — BFP-NCR

A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bureau of Research and Standards building in Quezon City, authorities confirmed.

According to an initial report from the Bureau of Fire Protection – National Capital Region (BFP-NCR), the blaze erupted inside the DPWH facility located along National Irrigation Administration Road, near Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Barangay Pinyahan.

Fire alarms were quickly raised in succession — the first alarm at 12:50 p.m., followed by the second alarm at 12:51 p.m., and the third alarm at 12:56 p.m., prompting a rapid response from nearby fire stations.

After nearly an hour of firefighting operations, the BFP-NCR declared the fire under control at 1:34 p.m. and completely extinguished at 1:49 p.m.

As of this writing, no injuries or casualties have been reported, and investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage.
