The possible government post for General Nicolas Torre III remains undecided, months after his removal as chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
When asked about the status of Torre’s reported appointment, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said she had no specific details yet regarding the position supposedly offered to him.
“I don’t have details yet about that promise or what position might be given to him. Let’s just wait for the decision of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.,” Castro said.
It can be recalled that Malacañang previously announced Torre would be given another post in government after being replaced by Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. as PNP chief last August.
Earlier, former Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) head Gilbert Cruz was also reassigned to a new post — now serving as chief of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) under the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
As of now, Torre’s next assignment remains pending, with the Palace awaiting the President’s final decision.
