Last Sunday’s VIBE was all about celebrating Filipino artistry and honoring timeless OPM hits that shaped generations.
The show opened with an electrifying production number from the Vibe Jocks and Gen Vs, setting the tone for an all-OPM night. Gen V Carmela mesmerized the crowd with Cinderella’s classic “Bato Sa Buhangin,” followed by Vibe Jock Anna, who captured hearts with her rendition of Hajji Alejandro’s “Ang Lahat Ng Ito’y Para Sa’yo.” The crowd roared with excitement as Dylan Menor delivered a soulful take on Rey Valera’s “Kamusta Ka.”
Then came the fan-favorite Vibe 3 Segments, kicking off with OG, featuring teen heartthrob Raymond Lauchengco. Performing his iconic “So It’s You,” Raymond expressed his gratitude to longtime fans and revealed his latest single, “My Favorite Story,” composed by Ms. Odette Quesada—now available on major music platforms.
Over at the Uprising segment, breakthrough band It All Started With May earned the title Uprising Star of the Week with their heartfelt performance of “Pasado.” The band’s vocalist shared the inspiration behind the song: “Bagay na gusto natin pero sa tingin po natin hindi natin siyang kayang abutin.”
The energy soared during the Main Vibe, featuring two artists who have risen from Uprising to headlining the main stage—Figvres with “Wasabi” and Hezekiah Mesina with “10.” Figvres shared their surprise at returning to the leaderboard, while Hezekiah teased fans about his upcoming single dropping this November.
Closing the Main Vibe on a high note was crowd favorite LILY, performing “Kinakabahan” and securing the week’s top spot. Frontman Joshua shared, “2 months na kami sa leaderboard. Maraming maraming salamat po. Dahil sa inyo, I think we’re Meant To Vhie.”
The night wrapped up with an emotional OG comeback—Wency Cornejo, performing “Hanggang” and “Mangarap Ka.” Wency described it as a full-circle moment, recalling that the Meralco Theater—the same venue where VIBE tapes—was also the very first stage he performed on back in 1984.
