LACSON: KEY WITNESS READY TO NAME OFFICIALS LINKED TO FLOOD CONTROL ANOMALIES

Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson revealed that his “very important witness” is ready to expose more names allegedly benefiting from irregular flood control projects.

During a press conference confirming his return as chair of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, Lacson said the upcoming testimony could go beyond flood control issues and uncover other questionable projects within the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

“Importante (ang testimony niya) kasi pwedeng ma-wrap up ‘yung lahat ng kailangang malaman patungo pati sa prosecution at conviction,” he said.

When asked if the witness would implicate prominent figures, Lacson replied confidently, “Naturally and surely.”

The senator declined to reveal the witness’s identity but confirmed that supporting documents were being finalized.

“Pinapa-finalize ko ‘yung affidavit within the week. Kasi base sa kuwento at base sa mga dapat dokumento—ledger, digital files, lahat ng notes,” Lacson said.

He emphasized that all claims must be backed by evidence, warning against unsupported accusations.

“Kasi sabi ko sa kanya, kung mag-mention lang ng pangalan na walang support ng dokumento, huwag na lang mag-mention. Kasi baka makasira lang ng tao,” he added.

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is set to begin its new investigation on November 14 (Friday).
