The Social Security System (SSS) has announced the activation of its Calamity Loan Program (CLP) for members in Cebu who were affected by Typhoon Tino, beginning November 6 until December 5, 2025.
SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes de Claro said the program aims to provide quick and accessible financial assistance to eligible members coping with the aftermath of the disaster.
“We understand how life-changing the devastation brought by Typhoon Tino is to workers and their families in Cebu. Our priority is to provide immediate, accessible support to help them get back on their feet,” said de Claro.
Under the CLP, qualified members may borrow up to ₱20,000 at 7% interest per annum, payable over 24 months. Applications can be submitted online through the My.SSS facility.
Major Requirements:
- Must be residing or working in an area declared under a State of Calamity;
- At least 36 monthly contributions, with six posted within the last 12 months before application;
- An active My.SSS online account;
- No past due or restructured loan accounts;
- Not a recipient of any final benefit;
- Must be of legal age and below 65 years old at the time of filing;
- Must not have been disqualified for fraud.
Meanwhile, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported that 140 people have been confirmed dead and 127 remain missing across the Visayas region as of November 6. Authorities said the figures may still rise as validation continues.
