Nearly 917,000 individuals from 11 regions across the Philippines have been evacuated as part of pre-emptive safety measures ahead of Super Typhoon Uwan, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) reported on Sunday, November 9.
In a Facebook post, the PCO said that the pre-emptive evacuation efforts covered 270,682 families, with government agencies and local authorities working round-the-clock to ensure public safety.

“Mahigit 270,000 pamilya o halos 917,000 indibidwal na ang inilikas bilang bahagi ng pre-emptive evacuation dahil sa banta ng Super Typhoon #UwanPH,” the PCO said.
“Patuloy ang pagtutok ng mga ahensya at lokal na pamahalaan upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng lahat.”
According to the 11:00 a.m. weather bulletin issued by PAGASA, Super Typhoon Uwan is currently affecting the Bicol Region, with Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 5 raised in several of its provinces as the powerful storm continues its path across Luzon.
