PALACE SUSPENDS WORK AND CLASSES IN LUZON, VISAYAS DUE TO SUPER TYPHOON UWAN

Malacañang has ordered the suspension of work in government offices and classes across Luzon and parts of the Visayas on Monday, November 10, as Super Typhoon Uwan moves closer to Aurora province, bringing powerful winds and heavy rains.

Under Memorandum Circular No. 106, the suspension covers government offices in the National Capital Region (NCR), Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, V, and VIII.

Classes in all levels within these regions, including Regions VI, VII, and the Negros Island Region, will be suspended on November 10 and 11.

“Agencies responsible for basic, vital, and health services, preparedness and response duties must continue to remain operational,” the circular stated.

Government offices in affected areas may implement alternative work arrangements, while local governments outside the covered regions can issue their own suspension orders. Work in private companies, meanwhile, will be left to the discretion of management.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has placed the entire government on “full alert”, as PAGASA warned that Uwan could make catastrophic landfall in Aurora or nearby provinces.
