MERALCO RAISES POWER RATES THIS NOVEMBER

Aside from rising fuel prices, electricity consumers will also face higher bills this month as the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced a rate increase for November 2025.

In its latest advisory, Meralco said there will be an upward adjustment of ₱0.15 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), driven mainly by a ₱0.14/kWh increase in transmission charges for residential customers and a higher feed-in tariff allowance of ₱0.88/kWh.

The adjustment translates to an estimated ₱30 increase for households consuming 200 kWh, ₱46 for 300 kWh, ₱61 for 400 kWh, and ₱76 for 500 kWh.

Meanwhile, oil companies will also raise fuel prices starting Tuesday, November 11, adding further pressure on consumers already coping with higher electricity costs.
