The Office of the Vice President (OVP) distributed rice and water aid to residents affected by Typhoon Tino in Negros Island, the agency announced Monday, November 10.
In a Facebook post, the OVP–Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office said it delivered 5-kilogram rice packs and water containers to local governments in Canlaon, Binalbagan, La Carlota, La Castellana, and Moises Padilla as part of its pre-positioned relief operations.
“Nagpatuloy ang paghahanda ng OVP… sa pamamagitan ng pre-positioning ng mga RICE boxes, 5-kilogram rice packs, at water containers sa mga piling lokal na pamahalaan sa Negros Island,” the office said.
It added that the relief effort forms part of the OVP’s continued assistance to Filipinos affected by recent calamities.
“Sa gitna ng hamon ng masamang panahon, patuloy ang OVP sa pagtiyak na mayroong tulong na maihahatid sa mga Pilipinong higit na nangangailangan,” the post read.
