More than 20,000 complaints from Filipinos have been received by the “Sumbong sa Pangulo” website, Malacañang’s platform for citizens to directly report grievances to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the President said Thursday, November 13.
“Marami po sa ating mga naimbestigahan ay hindi po namin malalaman kung hindi niyo sinumbong sa amin,” Marcos said, emphasizing the importance of public information in uncovering anomalies.
Following the reports, Marcos visited flood control projects in Iloilo, Calumpit (Laguna), and Baliwag (Bulacan), noting instances of unfinished or “ghost projects” that became the basis for ongoing investigations.
“They’re part of the list. We’ll give you the complete list. I just didn’t go through them because they’re like, 37 of them. Like I said, you’ll get a briefer which will give you more detail on all of the things I’ve said today,” Marcos told the media when asked about officials involved.
He also denied that his cousin, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, was included in the list, saying: “I don’t think so because the only evidence that has been against him is in the Senate. So, I don’t know. With the speaker, not as yet.”
Acknowledging public desire for accountability, Marcos urged citizens to continue submitting evidence via the website.
“Kaya’t sinabi ko, napakahalaga ‘yong ‘Sumbong sa Pangulo’ dahil marami kaming nakukuhang impormasyon d’yan. So, ipagpatuloy ninyo ‘yong inyong pagsumbong at bigyan niyo kami lahat ng ebidensya na mayroon kayo, para magamit natin, para kasuhan kahit sino. Walang immune dito. Walang exempted dito sa mga imbestigasyon na ito,” he said.
