VP SARA OUTLINES PLAN FOR PERMANENT OVP OFFICE, MUSEUM, AND CHARTER

Vice President Sara Duterte presented an ambitious plan for the Office of the Vice President (OVP), including the establishment of a permanent office, a museum, and a formal charter.

Called a “launchpad for the future,” VP Sara said the initiative will ensure that the OVP “remains strong, stable, and effective for the next century.”

She added that the OVP museum will be “a dedicated space to permanently preserve and showcase the history, artifacts, and enduring legacy of the Vice Presidency.”

A permanent office, VP Sara explained, will improve efficiency, reduce expenses, and enhance public service delivery. The OVP is currently based in Robinsons Cybergate Plaza in Mandaluyong City, while previous vice presidents operated from Quezon City Reception House (former Vice President and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo) and Coconut Palace in Pasay City (former Vice Presidents Noli de Castro and Jejomar Binay).

Regarding the OVP Charter, VP Sara said it will “formally define the mandate, functions, and capacity” of the office, making it “constitutionally recognized and supported.”

“These initiatives are our commitment to democratic institution-building. Strengthening this office will allow us to serve you better, more efficiently, and with greater impact,” she said in a video message.

The OVP is set to celebrate its 90th anniversary on Friday, November 14, alongside the launch of a pop-up exhibit in Quezon City highlighting the legacies and contributions of past vice presidents.

“Since its establishment in 1935, this office has been a pillar of Philippine democracy, transforming challenges into opportunities for impactful, grassroots service,” VP Sara added.
