Vice President Sara Duterte said she has no plans yet to run in the 2028 presidential elections.
During the 90th anniversary of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), she was asked if she would pick Senator Imee Marcos as her running mate.
“Hindi pa po ako nakakapag-desisyon kung tatakbo ako sa 2028, ma’am. So, hindi pa po ako umabot sa punto na nag-isip kung sino ang Vice President,” Duterte said.
Duterte reiterated she has no plans of endorsing another “Marcos” in politics after her falling out with 2022 running mate President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., though she did endorse Imee Marcos in the 2025 midterm elections.
She added she would announce her political plans in the last quarter of 2026.
Duterte continues to top early surveys for 2028, despite a drop in her trust rating from 61% to 53% in the October Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
