OMBUDSMAN REMULLA URGES ZALDY CO TO RETURN AND SUBMIT TESTIMONY

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla has called on former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co to return to the Philippines and formally present his testimony amid the latter’s public allegations of widespread corruption.

In a statement released by the Office of the Ombudsman on Saturday, November 15, the agency emphasized that serious investigations must follow proper procedure.

According to the Office, Co has not undergone the required process, choosing instead to release his claims through videos and social media platforms.

The Ombudsman reiterated that its doors have long been open to Co and assured that protection would be provided if his hesitation to return stemmed from fear.

The statement concluded with a direct call for Co to return and submit his sworn testimony.

Prior to the Ombudsman’s statement, Co had challenged the Ombudsman regarding matters involving former House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez in the second part of his released video.
