Malacañang on Tuesday rejected calls from allies of Vice President Sara Duterte urging President Bongbong Marcos to step down, describing the demands as political noise aimed at advancing Duterte’s political ambitions.
Bakit? Para pumalit ang Bise Presidente.”
She emphasized that resignation is not an option, noting, “The President is still working.
Castro warned the calls were part of a destabilization effort to derail the anti-corruption investigations initiated by Marcos.
She dismissed claims that the probes had backfired: “Hindi po natin nakikitang nagbu-boomerang ito.
Asked if the President felt compelled to confront the allegations, Castro said his focus remains on governance, not political theatrics, even as tensions rise within the Duterte-Marcos alliance.
