Antipolo City 1st District Representative Ronaldo Puno on Wednesday rejected speculation of an impending leadership change at the House of Representatives, asserting his continued support for Speaker Bojie Dy.
“I continue to support Speaker Bojie,” Puno said, dismissing talk that he was being positioned to take over the chamber’s highest post.
He also labeled as “not true” claims that removing Dy was being floated to thwart any possible impeachment complaint against President Bongbong Marcos.
Puno chairs the National Unity Party, the House’s second-largest bloc with 42 members, while the largest group, Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats led by former Speaker Martin Romualdez, holds 109 seats and currently faces controversy over alleged irregular flood control projects.
Dy, meanwhile, belongs to the President’s party, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
