Amid heightened demands for transparency and accountability following allegations of widespread corruption, Akbayan Partylist—led by Senate Deputy Majority Leader Risa Hontiveros—released digital copies of President Bongbong Marcos’ Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).
The group also made public the SALNs of Vice President Sara Duterte, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and former Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
As of December 31, 2024, Marcos reported assets totaling ₱389,357,463.14, with a private appraisal placing his net worth at ₱1.375 billion.
His personal properties were listed at ₱247,332,008.74, while real properties—agricultural, residential, and cultural—amounted to ₱142,025,454.40. An additional list reflected over ₱74 million in personal properties.
Comparatively, Marcos’ December 31, 2022 SALN showed a net worth of ₱371,492,590.60 and appraised assets of ₱960,700,422.23.
By December 31, 2023, his net worth rose to ₱381,447,290.60, with appraised assets reaching ₱1.157 billion.
Calls for the release of his SALN intensified after the President ordered lifestyle checks on government officials in response to the discovery of alleged “ghost” flood control projects.
The Office of the Ombudsman under Boying Remulla has since eased access restrictions previously implemented by former Ombudsman Martires, who limited SALN access exclusively to filers or their authorized representatives.
