ENRILE LAID TO REST WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS

Former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile was laid to rest on Saturday, November 22, at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, receiving full military honors in recognition of his long years of government service.

A funeral Mass was held earlier at the Santuario de San Antonio Church in Makati City, attended by his family, former colleagues, and friends who came to pay their final respects. Outside the church, uniformed military personnel stood in formation as his flag-draped casket was brought out.

Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gibo Teodoro led the ceremonial military honors for Enrile, who served under several administrations and passed away at the age of 101.

From the church, his remains were brought to the LNMB through a funeral cortege accompanied by loved ones. His burial followed established protocols and honors accorded to former Cabinet officials and military reservists.

Enrile died on November 13 at the age of 101.
