PNP SEEKS INTERPOL AID TO NAB CASSANDRA ONG

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now working with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to secure the immediate arrest of Cassandra Ong, identified as a key player in POGO operations linked to Lucky South 99.

Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melecio Nartatez Jr. confirmed that coordination is underway to bring Ong back to the Philippines. Ong was previously released from House of Representatives detention during the transition from the 19th to the 20th Congress.

“The PNP is committed to delivering justice to the victims of illegal POGO hubs. Those involved in these illegal operations must face the consequences of their actions,” Nartatez said.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) also confirmed that Interpol has issued a Red Notice for Ong and Ronelyn Baterna—both former personnel of an illegal POGO facility. The two face charges of qualified human trafficking.

Authorities last tracked Ong to Japan, but her current location remains unknown.
