CONTENT CREATOR “NEVER GROW OLD” UNDER FIRE FOR ALLEGED CONSENT ISSUE INVOLVING A COSPLAYER

The cosplay community is calling out popular content creator group Never Grow Old after a now-deleted Facebook video surfaced showing them hosting a “Bring Me” game with a ₱1,000 prize where participants were asked to “bring” a cosplayer to the hosts without prior consent.

According to viewers, the group allegedly spotted a Mavuika cosplayer (from Genshin Impact) nearby and attempted to persuade her to join the bit, despite the cosplayer repeatedly declining. This immediately raised alarms in the cosplay scene, as many pointed out the long-standing rule: “Cosplay is not consent.”

The original video’s comment section quickly filled with criticism, with cosplayers and fans emphasizing boundaries and proper etiquette when interacting with cosplayers in public spaces. Some commenters even stated they planned to report the page due to the perceived harassment.

By the afternoon of November 24, Never Grow Old removed the video from their page. As of writing, no public statement or apology has been released by the group.

Never Grow Old currently has 1.1 million followers on Facebook and 1.9 million subscribers on YouTube, making this issue a widely discussed topic among local content creator and cosplay circles.
