Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) Chairperson and retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Andres Reyes Jr. expressed a brief but positive reaction to the Sandiganbayan’s issuance of arrest warrants against individuals implicated in the controversial flood control projects on Monday, November 24.
In an ambush interview while getting into his car, Reyes described the issuance of the warrants as “very good.”
“Very good, very good to hear,” he said, referring to the long-discussed flood control scandal.
He added that the action is for the benefit of the Filipino people.
This development comes following reports from President Bongbong Marcos that seven individuals are already in police custody, two are set to surrender, and seven remain at large in connection with the anomalous flood control projects.
