Quezon City 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde maintained that he is ready to face all accusations linking him to alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
In an ambush interview on Tuesday, November 25, Atayde said all claims against him remain unsubstantiated.
“Again, it’s all hearsay, po, Sir, e. Kasi until now as I said, mas mabuti pong bago magturo e ibigay muna sa akin ‘yong ebidensiya laban sa atin,” he said.
He added that even his father has yet to receive any formal complaint.
“Kasi, up to this point, since September 8, they haven’t even given out anything against my father.”
According to the lawmaker, his father Art Atayde is also willing to undergo investigation, stressing that they are not hiding anything.
“Wala kaming tinatago. Hindi ako magtatago. Hindi ako iiwas. Hindi ako lilipad ng ibang bansa. I’m here to thoroughly go to the investigation to fight for my innocence,” he added.
Atayde is among the politicians earlier linked to supposed commissions from projects awarded to the Discaya group. Curlee Discaya, co-owner of St. Gerrard Construction and Alpha & Omega General Contractor, claimed that some Department of Public Works and Highways officials allegedly sought shares from project funds.
Atayde had previously denied these allegations in an Instagram story posted on September 8.
