ABS-CBN’S RESILIENCE HIGHLIGHTED IN CORY VIDANES’ ROUSING SPEECH

ABS-CBN Chief Operating Officer for Broadcast Cory Vidanes received long applause after delivering a powerful message on the Lopez-led network’s resilience, five years after it lost its franchise.

Speaking at Star Magical Christmas 2025, Vidanes paid tribute to the Kapamilya Network’s strength and endurance amid its biggest crisis.

“It’s been five years since the shutdown, but ABS-CBN is still alive,” Vidanes proudly declared.

She added, “The loving relationships that we have nurtured through the years with our audience and with all of you has kept us strong and driven to hurdle all our challenges.”

ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal bid was rejected by the House Committee on Legislative Franchises on July 10, 2020, following relentless attacks from then-President Rodrigo Duterte.

Despite losing its free TV franchise, ABS-CBN continues to reach audiences through the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and partner networks such as A2Z, TV5, ALLTV, and GMA Network. The company also returned to free radio through DZMM via its partnership with Prime Media Holdings.
