President Bongbong Marcos has ordered the retrieval of airplanes and helicopters allegedly hidden by former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co in Malaysia and Singapore.
In a video message on Friday, November 28, the President said he directed the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to coordinate with authorities in Malaysia and Singapore to recover Co’s aircraft registered under his company, Misibis Aviation Development, which are already under a freeze order by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC).
The President emphasized that fugitives cannot use assets taken from the public treasury to evade the law.
“You have the money to run but you cannot outrun the Republic of the Philippines,” he said.
Marcos urged the fugitives to return to the country, adding, “Kaya kayong mga pugante umuwi na kayo! Ang payo ko sa inyo, hindi na kayo turista, hinahabol na kayo ng batas.”
