LTO ORDERS REGISTRATION AND HIGHWAY BAN FOR E-BIKES, E-TRIKES

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) reminded owners that electric vehicles, including e-bikes and e-trikes, must be registered under the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA Law, Republic Act No. 11697). The law covers all electric vehicles except those for private use.

The LTO issued the reminder following the announcement that starting Monday, December 1, e-bikes and e-trikes will no longer be allowed on national highways.

The IRR of the EVIDA Law enables the enforcement of this new regulation to ensure safety and proper vehicle registration across the country.
