Talent manager and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz expressed his support for the potential presidential run of Senator Bam Aquino in 2028.
In a recent Facebook post, Diaz praised Aquino’s performance in the Senate.
“Husay ni Sen. Bam Aquino. At walang bahid ng corruption. Talagang ang edukasyon ang gusto niyang manalo,” he said.
Diaz also suggested a possible tandem with Senate Deputy Majority Leader Risa Hontiveros if former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo opts not to run.
“Kung ayaw na ni Mayor Leni Gerona Robredo tumakbo, baka pwede si Bam. Tapos, si Senator Risa Hontiveros ang kanyang runningmate, ay nako, sama ako ng sampu diyan!” he added.
He emphasized the need for presidential candidates to love the country, avoid using positions for personal enrichment, and not turn politics into a family business.
“Bam-Risa for 2028 — why not?” Diaz concluded.
Robredo has previously said she is not considering the 2028 elections and prefers to focus on her duties as mayor. Hontiveros, meanwhile, stated she is ready to be the standard-bearer of the legitimate opposition if necessary.
Aquino returned to the Senate in 2025, surprising many after finishing second in the senatorial race despite low pre-election survey rankings.
