GMA Network, Inc. announced the early retirement of Oliver Amoroso, who served as Senior Vice President overseeing GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy groups, in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) last Friday, November 28.
Amoroso, who assumed these posts in 2023, played a key role in integrating GMA News Manila, GMA Regional TV, GMA News Online, and Super Radyo DZBB into what is now GMA Integrated News, solidifying the network’s status as the Philippines’ top multimedia news source and the “News Authority of the Filipino.”
He also supervised the Kapuso network’s regional operations, content production, and business development, including 12 TV stations nationwide, as well as various initiatives and partnerships such as sports production for the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA).
Following his retirement, Vice President for News Programs and Specials Michelle Seva has been appointed Officer-in-Charge of GMA Integrated News, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department alongside her current responsibilities.
Seva has been with GMA Network since 1997 and became Program Manager in charge of newscasts and specials before rising through the ranks. She was appointed Assistant Vice President in 2010, promoted to Senior Assistant Vice President in 2017, and became Vice President for News Programs and Specials in 2020. In her roles, she led the production of a portfolio of high-performing, award-winning news programs and specials.
Meanwhile, Senior Assistant Vice President and Deputy Head for Synergy Marivic Araneta has been named Officer-in-Charge of GMA Regional TV and Synergy, leading the department including Regional TV’s Central Office operations.
Araneta started her GMA career in 2004 as Promotions Manager for the Viewer-Directed Marketing Division. She later became Sports and Special Projects Manager in 2009, and Senior Programming Manager for GMA Regional TV. In May 2022, she was appointed Assistant Vice President for Local Content Production, and in October 2022, she was promoted to Senior Assistant Vice President and Deputy Head for Synergy.
