NO OVERKILL IN SECURITY PREPARATIONS FOR NOV. 30 RALLY — REMULLA

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla asserted that there was no “overkill” in the preparations made by authorities for the anti-corruption rally held on November 30.

According to a report, Remulla said that what people should worry about is being unprepared.

“There’s no such thing as overkill. There is only under preparation,” Remulla stated.

He emphasized that the police work around the clock and that their presence is essential to maintain security.

Earlier, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that 15,097 police officers would be deployed to secure the “Trillion Peso March” anti-corruption rallies on November 30.

The PNP also appealed for public understanding, especially from those joining the event, after photos and videos of barricades and barbed wires set up near Malacañang and other rally sites went viral on social media.

According to PNP Acting Chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., these measures were not intended for “peace loving” and “law-abiding” protesters, but for individuals who might attempt to disrupt the organized activities.
