The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Bulacan South District Office is set to file charges against Senator Jinggoy Estrada and former Senator Bong Revilla Jr. in connection with alleged kickbacks from anomalous flood control projects, according to an exclusive report by Bilyonaryo News Channel, which cited documents it obtained from the agency.
Estrada and Revilla will reportedly face two counts of graft, based on the affidavit of former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, who is also among those to be charged.
Aside from the two lawmakers and Bernardo, the NBI-Bulacan case list also includes former DPWH Bulacan First District Engineer Henry Alcantara, Assistant Engineer Jaypee Mendoza, Arjay Domasig, Emelita Juat, Juanito Mendoza, Christina Mae Pineda, and Sally Santos, owner of SYMS Construction.
Both Estrada and Revilla previously faced graft and plunder cases over alleged misuse of their Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) in 2014, which led to their detention. Revilla was acquitted in 2018, while Estrada was released in 2017 and eventually cleared in 2024.
Estrada was also jailed in 2001 alongside his father, former President Joseph Estrada, over graft linked to alleged jueteng kickbacks during his time as San Juan mayor.
As of writing, Estrada and Revilla have not issued any response to the latest allegations.
