The 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is set to kick off with eight entries, generating excitement over possible box-office hits and awards contenders.
As expected, many predict Vice Ganda will again top the box-office with his family comedy-drama Call Me Mother, co-starring award-winning actress Nadine Lustre. Vice has been a consistent box-office leader in MMFF since his first entry in 2012.
Other films anticipated to perform well at the box office include Shake Rattle and Roll Evil Origins, Manila’s Finest, and Love You So Bad.
Meanwhile, awards predictions suggest strong showings for Manila’s Finest, Iʼmperfect, Unmarry, Rekonek, and Bar Boys After School during the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal on December 27.
The festival runs from December 25, 2025, to January 7, 2026, with the Parade of Stars slated for December 19 in Makati City and the awards night on December 27.
