Malacañang admitted it is difficult to find a replacement for former DPWH Secretary Rogelio “Babes” Singson, who resigned as a commissioner of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Bongbong Marcos has yet to identify a possible successor.
She noted Singson’s expertise as an engineer was a significant contribution to ICI’s investigations, making his resignation regrettable but understandable due to health reasons.
“Sa paningin ng Pangulo ay mahirap talagang palitan ang isang katulad ni Babes Singson,” Castro said.
Castro added that it remains undecided whether a replacement will be sought, as the matter has not been discussed at the Palace.
She assured, however, that the ICI’s investigation into alleged corruption in flood control projects continues unabated to hold perpetrators accountable.
