Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte has requested travel clearance from the House of Representatives to visit 16 countries over a two-month period, according to documents obtained by news website Politiko.
In a letter to Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, Duterte listed Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, and Singapore, covering December 15, 2025, to February 20, 2026.
“Rest assured that the expenses that will be incurred from this trip are from my personal funds alone,” Duterte told Dy.
He also requested to participate in House plenary sessions and committee meetings remotely while abroad, stating, “In addition, this is also to seek your kind indulgence in allowing this pepresentation to attend the scheduled plenary sessions and meetings virtually from the aforementioned dates.”
