Former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. submitted a counter affidavit on Wednesday at the Department of Justice (DOJ) in response to allegations that he received kickbacks from a government flood control project.
Revilla spent only a few minutes inside the DOJ, taking an oath and filing the affidavit.
According to his spokesperson, lawyer Francesca Lourdes Peña, the counter affidavit emphasized that Revilla had no involvement in, nor received any kickbacks from, the flood control project.
Peña added that they are prepared to present evidence to support the claim.
The DOJ is conducting a preliminary investigation into irregularities linked to the flood control project, with Revilla listed as one of the respondents.
