HOUSE NAMES MEMBERS TO 2026 BUDGET BICAM COMMITTEE

The House of Representatives has designated its members to the bicameral conference committee tasked with reconciling the differing provisions of the proposed 2026 national budget (House Bill 4058).

During Wednesday night’s plenary session, House Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos moved for the appointment of the panel, which includes:

  • House Committee on Appropriations chairperson and Nueva Ecija 1st District Representative Mika Suansing
  • Bataan 2nd District Representative Albert Garcia
  • House Deputy Speaker and Ilocos Sur 2nd District Representative Kristen Singson-Meehan
  • Palawan 2nd District Representative Jose Alvarez
  • Davao de Oro 1st District Representative Maria Carmen Zamora
  • Surigao del Sur 1st District Representative Romeo Momo Sr.
  • Cagayan de Oro City 2nd District Representative Rufus Rodriguez
  • Camiguin Lone District Representative Jurdin Jesus Romualdo
  • Parañaque City 2nd District Representative Brian Yamsuan
  • Negros Occidental 3rd District Representative Javier Miguel Benitez
  • House Minority Leader and 4Ps Partylist Representative Marcelino Libanan
  • LPGMA Partylist Representative Allan Ty

The bicameral conference committee will convene on December 12 to harmonize the House and Senate versions of the 2026 General Appropriations Bill.

Both chambers earlier adjusted their legislative calendar to ensure timely ratification of the budget. Instead of adjourning on December 19, Congress will now adjourn on December 22.
