One of the most anticipated films in the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 is Call Me Mother, a comedy-drama that blends laughter, heart, and a fresh take on family bonds.

Directed by Jun Robles Lana and starring Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, the film opens in Philippine cinemas on December 25, 2025 as an official MMFF entry.
WHAT THE FILM IS ABOUT
“Call Me Mother” follows the story of Twinkle de Guzman (played by Vice Ganda), a queer single mother who dreams of legally adopting her beloved son, Angelo “Angel” de Jesus. As Twinkle works toward completing the adoption, she plans a special trip to Disneyland as a surprise for Angel. But her plans take an unexpected turn when Mara de Jesus (Nadine Lustre), Angel’s biological mother, suddenly returns.

Instead of a simple legal process, Twinkle finds herself in a heartfelt and sometimes humorous battle of motherly love and devotion. To win Mara’s cooperation in finalizing the adoption, Twinkle must prove that motherhood isn’t defined by biology — but by love, sacrifice, and care.
