The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has warned the public against text scams related to alleged violations of the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
According to the agency, motorists will only receive real-time notifications via text message and email once a violation has been verified. Only messages sent by “MMDA_NCAP” are legitimate.
“Tandaan na ang lehitimong #MayHuliKa text notification ay: WALANG payment links. WALANG reply to sender. WALANG SMS contact information,” the MMDA reminded on Saturday.
The agency also urged the public not to click on suspicious links to avoid sharing personal or sensitive information. It emphasized verifying the source of information through official channels.
“Sakaling may natatanggap na kahina-hinalang mensahe o post sa social media, itawag ito sa MMDA Hotline 136 o magpadala ng mensahe sa MMDA official social media accounts,” the agency added.
