Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon denied circulating rumors that he would leave the DPWH to return to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
In an interview on December 13, Dizon clarified that the speculation about his resignation from DPWH to go back to his former agency under the current administration is not true.
“That’s not true,” Dizon said. “I think that came when I get questions like, ‘Gusto mo bang bumalik sa DOTr?’ And I give an honest answer, if it were my choice, I’d love to go back to DOTr.”
“Di ko natapos ‘yon, e. […] Ang dami na naming nasimulan. Ang dami na naming napabilis na project. But of course, I had to answer a more challenging call from the President to handle an agency that is under siege,” he added.
Dizon previously served six months at DOTr before leaving to take over DPWH, following the acceptance of former Secretary Manuel Bonoan’s resignation by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. in September.
