De La Salle University reclaimed the UAAP men’s basketball championship after defeating the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, 80–72, in Game 3 of the Season 88 finals on Wednesday, December 17, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The Green Archers made history as only the second No. 4 seed in the Final Four era to win the title. The victory also served as redemption for La Salle, which fell to UP in a three-game finals series last season.
With the championship win, the Green Archers further cemented their legacy as one of the most successful collegiate programs in the country, securing their 11th UAAP men’s basketball title.
