The 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Parade of Stars concluded with bright lights, colorful floats, and enthusiastic crowds during its run on Friday, December 19, 2025 — marking the official kickoff of this year’s festive celebration of Filipino cinema in Makati City.
A FESTIVE START TO MMFF
The parade — a beloved annual MMFF tradition — brought together movie stars, cast members, and production teams from this year’s eight official entries along an 8.4-kilometer route through key Makati streets before culminating in a lively program and performances at Circuit Makati.

Despite heavy rains in some areas, the event drew crowds of fans who lined the streets to wave at their favorite stars and enjoy the decorated floats themed after each MMFF film.

PARADE ROUTE AND HIGHLIGHTS
The festivities began in the early afternoon with floats assembling at Macapagal Boulevard before heading through major thoroughfares — including Buendia Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, and J.P. Rizal Street — and concluding at A. Reyes Avenue near Circuit Makati.

This marked the first time Makati hosted such a grand motorcade for the MMFF, underscoring the city’s role as the festival’s host city for 2025 and a fresh chapter for this long-running Filipino cultural event.

STARS, FANS, AND FESTIVE ENERGY
Among the highlights of the parade were appearances by cast members from films such as Call Me Mother, Love You So Bad, Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, Manila’s Finest, Bar Boys After School, I’MPerfect, Rekonek, and UnMarry, each greeted with cheers and applause from fans along the route.

The parade also included music performances and festive interactions with the audience, creating a lively atmosphere that set the tone for the upcoming holiday film screenings beginning on December 25.

SAFETY AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
Ahead of the parade, authorities implemented traffic adjustments, lane closures, and stop-and-go schemes across affected Makati roads to ensure public safety and smooth movement of the procession, while also advising motorists to use alternate routes during the event.

In addition, security personnel were deployed along the parade route to help manage the crowds and maintain order throughout the celebration.

LOOKING AHEAD
With the Parade of Stars now concluded, fans and moviegoers are turning their attention to the nationwide screenings of MMFF entries starting December 25, and the Gabi ng Parangal (Awards Night) scheduled for December 27 — promising a full month of Philippine cinema festivities.

The success of this year’s parade in Makati further highlights the MMFF’s continued role in showcasing Filipino talent and engaging audiences across traditions, storytelling, and the magic of movies.
